Global Affairs Blogs

My latest project has been setting up MT blogs for the members of the Global Affairs forum. Most have chosen default styles, or ones that I had all ready to go. However, the owner of the forum needed something a little extra ... given that he makes the forum, and therefore the blogs possible for us. So he got a custom layout ...

I got bored with the site design over on my personal blog, so I whipped up a new one yesterday. I learned a cool new trick with DXImageTransform ... a nifty shadow effect, but it only works in Internet Explorer.

Two more layouts!

Cranky Wench Dot Com Dammit

Sharon's on a roll ... and so am I! I've been digging around in my old wallpaper directory (I used to be a SERIOUS wallpaper addict! I changed my desktop more often than I changed my socks!) I found a gorgeous flower that I prettied up in PSP, and a spectacular sunset/surfer/beach scene. I will post screenshots as soon as they near completion.

This is way too much fun ... and I am staying up playing with these things wayyyyy too late.

Graphic Frustration

Today I have been playing around with PSP7 and Fireworks. I was successful, at least in my eye, with the header graphic. But my efforts with some others have been less than stellar. It is probably because I don't fully understand how these programs work. And because each one has different capabilities, I am switching back and forth between them. FW is awful with colors ... I cannot get the right color to appear no matter what I try. I pick a pale pink, it displays neon purple. Is this thing totally colorblind, or what?

Getting Started

This new weblog is my little playground. Thanks to Sharon, I am now thoroughly obsessed with creating templates for MovableType

We have several layouts already, some for free, some for a small fee. We are also offering install services for MT, tagboard, and some other scripts and hacks for MT. As Sharon said, even if we never see the first penny out of this, it's going to be fun, and that's the whole point of it. And it sure as hell beats doing housework!
